What We Believe

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born into this world through a virgin birth, fully God and fully man. He died on the cross to pay for the sin of man. God raised Him from the dead and He appeared alive to His followers before ascending into Heaven. There He reigns over all creation and is preparing a reward for those who trust in Him for their salvation and who live according to His will. One day He will return in power and glory to lead the living and the dead to judgment. Matthew 1:24-25, John 1:1, John 14:2-3, 2 Timothy 3:15, Acts 10:42

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is our guide for living. We have no other manual. 2 Timothy 3:16

Salvation makes one a member of God’s church. No man can vote one in or out. For that reason we have no formal church membership. Galatians 3:27-29, Ephesians 2:19

There is only one church in God’s sight and it is made up of all those that have chosen Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are non-denominational and believe in the unity of God’s Church. We are affiliated with the Church of God headquartered in Anderson, Indiana. Affiliation gives accountability without control. Each church is autonomous with the ability to determine its own direction, budget, teaching and staff. 1 Corinthians 1:10-13

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and every believer receives His presence. Through his power believers are enabled to live a godly life. Luke 11:13, Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 1:13-14

God’s Spirit enables us to live above daily continual sin. At the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord we are kept by His grace and we are empowered to sustain a continuing relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Hosea 6:6, 1 John 1:9

The Holy Spirit gives one or more spiritual gifts to each Christian. We believe every believer is a minister and is encouraged to find, in God’s timing, his or her place of service in the Body of Christ, the Church. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

The Great Commandment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’" (Matt 22:37-39)

The Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:19-20)
